About Louisville Insulation
What is now Louisville Insulation was started as Louisville Spray Foam Insulation by Eric Jones and Carlos Bonilla back in 2007. They had a passion for change and a desire to deliver energy efficiency to customers. They also had “day jobs” as airplane technicians for UPS. They would turn the wrenches on airplanes all night and then run the spray foam business during the daylight. They built a strong customer base and a great reputation for doing the right thing and they had a great knowledge of Building Science. But they almost built it too big for two guys as a side hustle while still being leaders at UPS.
Something had to give, so they made the decision to sell the assets of the business. They personally knew Matt Gilles, the current owner. He was a client that they had done work for, and they knew he was a partner in a successful general contracting company called Shine Properties. Shine Properties had used Louisville Spray Foam in numerous projects in NULU, Butchertown, the River Road corridor, and even their personal houses during that 2010-2014 era. Eric and Carlos approached Matt and the Shine brothers with the offer to buy the existing company and low and behold, it HAPPENED! Matt was all aboard from Day 1 to Day tomorrow with the thought of using foam to provide energy efficient structures – the foam is in his blood at this point! There is no other way to build a structure than to build it energy efficient, in Matt’s head. Within year 1 Matt Gilles bought out his partners, bought a second truck, and has never looked back. He is proud of what the company has accomplished and excited about what we will do both today and in the future in order to approve the energy efficiency for his clients.
In 2018 the company decided to expand the horizon and branding from Louisville Spray Foam to Louisville Insulation. The Louisville Insulation name reflects more correctly what we do today as a company that does both traditional blown in insulation and spray foam insulation.
